Digital detox tourism: Practices of analogization

چکیده

Technological disconnectivity has turned into a tourist attraction in its own right: digital detox tourism celebrates temporary disconnection as means for experiencing an “authentic” world. With pervasive media and strong impetus to being available 24/7, this answer not only the question of what be done become disconnected, but also it highlight pleasures may afford. Drawing on two case studies—a discourse analysis self-organized unplugged travel writing ethnography event Camp Grounded—we argue that relies heavily staging performing distinction between analog digital. The article introduces notion “analogization” capture practices, media, infrastructure which support creation blurring distinction. Thus, we analogization, contrast digitalization, emphasizes there is no “analog” per se.
